Estate Planning Questionnaire for Single Individuals With Children

INITIAL CHECKLIST

We all love the ease of doing things online, expeditiously, and at as low a cost as possible; HOWEVER, if the answer to any of the following questions is “Yes,” please contact us. The experienced estate planning attorneys at Pappas Gibson can discuss your situation and objectives with you and make sure we craft a plan that is right for you.

  • Are you a citizen of a country other than the US?

  • Are you a resident of a state other than Ohio?

  • Is any person you intend to name as a beneficiary or key person in your estate plan (executor, trustee, or agent under a power of attorney) a citizen of a country other than the US?

  • Do you already have a trust?

  • Do any of your children have any special needs or issues with substance abuse, creditors, or pending divorces?

  • Do you have any children who predeceased you but who have children of their own who are currently living?

  • Do you own multiple pieces of real estate or any interest in a privately-held business?

  • Is your estimated net worth, when you include the death benefit that would pay out on any life insurance policies, over $10,000,000?

  • If you have multiple children, do you want the division of assets to be unequal?

  • Do you want to include beneficiaries other than just your children, even if your children survive you? For example, do you want to carve out a share for a niece, nephew, sibling, parent, etc., or leave money to charity, even if your children survive you?

  • Do you want to talk with an attorney about your estate plan, even if you answered “no” to all the questions above?
